Attractions

The Inn By The Sea is within walking distance of restaurants, craft shops, heritage plays, The G.B. Harris Heritage Museum, walking trails, playgrounds, swimming pool, churches and the Southern Newfoundland Seaman's Museum which is home of the largest mural in Eastern Canada. The Heritage Walk will take you past 25 of the historic buildings in Grand Bank. Within a short driving distance are many other attractions.
Seamen's Museum
  Within 10 minutes you can walk the Fortune Head Trail which boasts a beautiful coastline and historic fossil sites and is the site of the Fortune Head Ecological Reserve which is awaiting designation by UNESCO.

 Within 20 minutes you can play a round of golf at Grande Meadows Golf Course in Frenchman's Cove.

 Within 20 minutes you can experience the Winterland EcoMuseum, an outdoor natural history exhibit. The popular Golden Sands Beach is located nearby.
 
 Within 25 minutes, you can reach the trails to Mount Serat and the deep water point in Garnish and take the Point Rosie ATV/hiking trail covering 25 kilometers of coast line to the abandoned community of Point Rosie. These locations are part of the many sites found along the scenic French Island Drive of the Burin Peninsula.
 
 Within 30 minutes you can reach Point May, the closest point of land on the Burin Peninsula to the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon. On the way, stop at Point Crew Heritage Park for a telescopic view of the French islands, France's last outpost in North America.

 Within an hour you can tour the Miner's Museum in St. Lawrence and on the way stop by the Heritage Museums in Fortune, Lamaline and Lawn. Also in St. Lawrence you can experience the breathtaking beauty of Chamber's Cove, the site of the Truxton and Pollux disaster of 1942. A cenotaph depicting the tragedy stands in front of the town hall.
